Abstract

This research aimed to assess the knowledge of medical residents regarding National Humanization Policy (NHP) and also about existing humanization projects in studied hospital. This knowledge was measured before and after a lecture that addressed the NHP topic and its correlation with the new medical professionals Ethics Code. It was found that knowledge about the actions provided in PNH was satisfactory only after the informative lecture. It is expected that, after such training, it is possible to notice a greater involvement of doctors in institutional humanization actions, which can effectively contribute significantly to the improvement of the overall health care. It is suggested that other institutions promote presentation and awareness similar to presented here, aiming spread its precepts not only between doctors, but among all professionals involved in health care.
